Nevada Career Institute to Honor Graduates at Virtual Commencement Ceremony

Event Underscores NCI’s Commitment to Recognizing Students’ Achievements Amidst the Pandemic

LAS VEGAS, Nevada—In an effort to mark the achievements of graduates who completed their education in the middle of the COVID-19 outbreak, Nevada Career Institute (NCI) will host a virtual Commencement Ceremony on Friday, July 17 at 6 p.m. This event will honor more than 630 graduates from NCI and its California sister schools, North-West College and Glendale Career College. Thousands of family members, friends, and Instructors are expected to join and participate in the event to celebrate this incredible accomplishment.

“While I had hoped to shake these students’ hands as they crossed the graduation stage, this virtual Commencement does not, for a moment, diminish how proud I am of all their hard work,” explained NCI President Mitchell Fuerst. “They have responded to these challenging times with remarkable courage and compassion—values that have guided Nevada Career Institute since its founding—and I am honored to welcome them to our alumni family.”

Students will have the opportunity to wear their cap and gown during the ceremony, which are being provided free of charge for this special event. Along with the presentation of graduates, the evening will also include a heartfelt message from President Fuerst. In addition, NCI is providing these individuals with a restaurant gift card for a family meal, also free of charge, so they can celebrate this milestone moment with their family while enjoying a meal together.

Many of these graduates were partway through their programs when COVID-19 forced NCI to move classes online in March. Undeterred, these individuals demonstrated resilience and an unwavering drive to reach their educational goals—finishing their courses at home.

“These are extraordinary circumstances we are facing, but these are extraordinary individuals,” shared Fuerst. “Just as they have risen above the hardships of these past few months, I am confident they will continue to rise above any challenges they face in the health care field as they make a difference in the lives of their communities each and every day.”
